Review Cheap Pioneer Home Theater Receiver

I really don't understand how people can complain that this Pioneer Home Theater Receiver is lacking certain features. If it doesn't have features you want, buy something else. Also, it's a good idea to look at the user manual from the manufacturer's website before purchasing, to be sure it has what you want. That way there will be no surprises. I do understand 1 star for those unfortunate reviewers who got stuck with lemons. I wasn't personally looking for too much from a receiver, just wanted to hook up a budget 5.1 system in my family room. For around $550 I got this Pioneer Home Theater Receiver, Jamo C400 center, 4 Monoprice 8" 3-way in-walls and Polk PSW10 sub. This receiver has performed just great, there are a lot settings to allow you to adjust the sound to your taste or you can just let the Pioneer Home Theater Receiver decide, sit back and enjoy!

Pioneer BDP-320 1080p Blu-ray Disc Player

Pioneer BDP-320

Blu Ray player technology if now becoming "mature." Basically that means that good function is pretty much the norm and that prices are dropping. The Pioneer BPD-320, which is now selling for about 0, is a perfect example of this. Its sound and picture are excellent, its construction reasonably solid, and the differences between this mid-priced player and far more expensive models relatively small.

I chose the Pioneer BPD-320 from among the host of available models based on three considerations: 1) It has 7.1 analog outs. This enables a user with an appropriately configured AV Receiver to benefit from Blu Rays uncompressed multi-channel soundtracks without a "handshake capable" HDMI input monitor or projector. 2) The Pioneer looks fine, unlike many technically equivalent players (such as those my Sony and Samsung) that have a cheap consumer goods look and feel. And 3), price. A "bargain" when first released at about 0, the player is now a super bargain at about half that price. (I bought it at Amazon for 9 during one of their quickie sales). What a deal! :)

The player is everything I hoped it to be, and a bit more. Some here have complained about its slowness. I do not find that to be a problem. Blu Ray players are computers that need to 'boot up' and load programs, not instant-on devices such as a radio or a standard DVD player. With the updated firmware that is now standard on newly delivered players (and uploadable on older 320s) loading time is reasonable and command response time quite good if not excellent.

The Picture is clear and excellent. And the BPD-320s adjustment capability puts it ahead of the pack for serious videophiles with the knowledge, capability and tools to go for picture perfection.

7.1 analog outs and a good quality internal decoder makes for extraordinary sound - again, for the owner willing and able to use the available adjustment perimeters. (Folks who prefer to 'plug and play' will have nothing to complain about either.)

To this add Pioneer brand quality, durability and prestige and the BPD-320 comes out an absolute winner.
